Household Hub FAQ

Everything you’d want to ask before trusting us with your bills.

Straight answers on privacy, who owns your information, exactly what your household can see, how reminders are decided, and how to leave whenever you like.

For the full detail on what we collect, what members can see and how bill documents are stored, read the Household Hub privacy policy.

Privacy & security

Who can see my bills?+

Only you, and the household members you explicitly share an item with. Nothing in your Hub is visible to other customers, and we never publish or sell household data.

Every bill, document and record is protected by row-level security in the database, so a request signed in as another account simply cannot read your rows — the restriction is enforced by the backend, not just hidden in the interface.

What happens to a bill I upload for analysis?+

The file is used to read the details of that bill — provider, plan, usage and cost — and to produce your review. The analysis result is stored against your account so you can revisit it in your check history.

Uploaded bills are not used to train any public AI model, and we don't attach your name or address to market comparisons.

Do you store my bank or card details?+

No. Payments are handled by Paddle, our reseller and Merchant of Record. Card details are entered on Paddle's checkout and never touch our servers — we only receive the outcome of a payment and your subscription status.

Do you sell my data or pass it to providers?+

Never. We don't sell leads and we don't hand your details to telcos, energy retailers or insurers. When you decide to switch, you contact the provider yourself.

Data ownership

Who owns the information in my Hub?+

You do. Everything you add — bills, documents, notes and check results — remains yours. We store and process it to run the service you've asked for, nothing more.

Can I export everything?+

Yes. Your billing and entitlement history exports to CSV or PDF from the billing page, documents you uploaded can be downloaded again at any time from the recurring bills section, and you can request a full copy of your account data by emailing us.

What happens to my data if I delete my account?+

We delete your household records, uploaded documents and analysis results. A minimal record of transactions is kept where Australian tax and consumer law requires it, and that record contains no bill content.

If I invited members, whose data is it?+

The household owner is the account holder for the shared records. Members own the details of their own login and profile, and can leave the household at any time — leaving removes their access, it doesn't delete the household's records.

How shared bills work

How do I add someone to my household?+

Invite them by email from Members inside the Hub. They receive a branded invite link, create their own login, and accept the invitation. From then on they see a read-only view of the household: shared bills, renewal dates, household spend and any documents you've made visible to them.

Can I control what each person sees?+

Yes. Every item in Other recurring bills has member-level visibility, so you can share the electricity account with everyone while keeping a private insurance policy to yourself. Anything you don't share simply doesn't appear in their view.

Can members change or delete things?+

No. Members have read-only access by design, so nobody can accidentally delete the household's records. Only the owner adds, edits, marks paid or removes items.

Is there a limit on household members?+

No hard limit for normal household use — invite the people you actually live with. Members don't pay anything; the one Hub membership covers the whole home.

Reminders & alerts

What alerts does the Hub send?+

Three kinds: due-date reminders before a recurring bill is due, renewal warnings when a plan or policy is about to roll over, and a heads-up seven days before your own Hub subscription is charged.

Where do alerts appear?+

In-app in your notification inbox, and by email if you've turned email on for that category. Each member sets their own preferences on the notification settings page, so one person can take email while another sticks to in-app only.

Why did (or didn't) I get a particular reminder?+

The reminder audit log shows every reminder that was generated or skipped for each member, and the reason — item not shared with them, category switched off, or already sent. It's there so a missing alert is never a mystery.

What are the past-due and renewal alerts?+

The Hub dashboard tracks your household's monthly spend and flags anything past its due date or renewing soon. Marking an item paid clears its alert straight away.

Billing & cancellation

How do I cancel?+

From Billing & subscription in your account, in a couple of clicks. There are no lock-in contracts and you never have to phone or email us to leave.

What happens when I cancel?+

Your Hub access continues to the end of the period you've already paid for, then the household reverts to a standard free account. Your data isn't deleted — bills and results stay in your account, and sharing simply switches off.

Can I switch between monthly and yearly?+

Yes. Switching is handled on the billing page with a pro-rated preview before you confirm, so you can see exactly what you'll be charged. Yearly is $63.99 against $71.88 paying monthly.

Do you offer refunds?+

We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee on every purchase. See the refund policy for the details.
